Writing Posts in Blogger

Introduction Blogger is a widely used platform for creating and publishing blogs. However, many users may not be aware of the built-in tools that can streamline the writing and editing process. In this article, I will share insights gained from years of working with Blogger to help you write more efficiently and effectively. Unlike WordPress , which offers both a Classic Editor and a Block Editor , Blogger provides a single, streamlined editor that is straightforward and easy to use. Formatting Your Posts Blogger's Text style options help you maintain a consistent and clean format across all your posts, even if you change your blogger theme later. Key formatting tips: Use "Heading" styles (e.g., Major Heading, Heading, Subheading, Minor Heading) for titles and subheadings to improve structure and SEO . Use the "Paragraph" style for body text to ensure consistent spacing and readability. Use bold formatting to emphasize key points. Use "Clear format...

Protecting Blogger Content

Image
Introduction Knowledge is not truly free! Someone always pays the price. Behind every freely accessible article or tutorial lies the hard work of researchers, writers and developers who make that content possible. It is understandable, then, that creators may want to protect their work from being copied, pasted or scraped without permission. Implementing technical measures to prevent copying or printing can feel justified, especially if your content is monetized through memberships, premium subscriptions or ad revenue models that rely on users remaining on your site. Limiting unauthorized redistribution helps you retain control over your content's reach and value. However, such restrictions come with trade-offs. They can negatively affect the user experience , particularly for readers who want to highlight text, take notes or print content for personal study. These frustrations may lead to reduced engagement or even deter returning visits. Importantly, no client-side protection is...

Solo Travel Guide

Introduction The COVID-19 pandemic served as a stark reminder for current generations to cherish and actively pursue their desires in the present moment . We never know what the future holds. Even at a young age, we must acknowledge the fragility of life. In the hustle and bustle of city life, I enjoy traveling to a foreign country to experience a slightly different routine, even if it is just a temporary escape from reality. The anticipation of an upcoming trip is a constant source of motivation to work harder. However, I often find myself more tired after traveling than before, as I tend to overschedule my days with early wake-up calls for exploration instead of prioritizing rest. Nevertheless, I encourage everyone to travel and see the world as often as possible. Let your youthful spirit guide you towards maximum enjoyment, while you still have the freedom to do so, before the weight of adulthood and responsibilities fully sets in. Embrace the present moment instead of postponing t...

Study Smart

Image
Introduction While many believe consistently studying every day is essential for knowledge , the reality is different. Most of us study when necessary and also prioritize enjoying life like everyone else. This post is dedicated to all SPM, college and university students, aiming to share some practical study tips. To Comprehend As a science student, I have trained myself to understand what I learned in school or university. Memorizing everything is unnecessary unless it is pure facts (e.g. The sun rises in the East). Always question the explanation given to you and ask yourself if you agree with it. Relating knowledge to everyday life can solidify understanding. For example, I still remember that perfume is an ester, and ester is made from a chemical reaction between alcohol and carboxylic acid. Similarly, physics concepts like acceleration and velocity become clearer when connected to real-world experiences like driving a car. Additionally, teaching others  reinforces your own ...

If and only if I know how to engage with audience, why would I search how to do a good presentation? Instead of finding out how to make a marvellous presentation, why not start thinking What do we expect when we are the audience ? What is the take-home messages that we wish audience to know? As an Audience Each and every time when I was asked to do a CME or case presentation, the first emotion that struck me would be fear. ...

Viewing HEIF Images on Windows

Image
Introduction HEIF is a newer image format that offers better compression than JPEG while maintaining high quality. It is becoming increasingly popular, especially on Apple devices. However, when you want to view these images on a Windows Computer, you may run into some compatibility issues. Install the HEIF and HEVC Extensions from Microsoft Store The HEIF Image Extension (Free) enables Windows 10 and Windows 11 devices to read and write files that use the High Efficiency Image File (HEIF) format. Such files can have a .heic or .heif file extension. However, some HEIF images are compressed using the HEVC format, which requires the HEVC Video Extensions package (USD 0.99 - optional) to be installed as well. Once installed, you will be able to view HEIC files in the Photos app like any other image format, and File Explorer will generate thumbnails for your HEIC image files. Alternative: Use a Third-Party Software If you do not want to pay the USD 0.99 for the HEVC Video Extensions, yo...

Finding Lost Mi Band

Image
Introduction Mi Band is a wearable device produced by Xiaomi that tracks your physical activity and sleep quality. Have you ever misplaced or lost your Mi Band and spent hours looking for it? If you have, you know how annoying it can be to lose track of your fitness companion. But do not worry, we have some tips to help you find your Mi Band in no time. Find Band First, you need to check if your phone can still connect to your Mi Band via Bluetooth. If it can, you can use " Find Band " feature in the Zepp Life app to make your Mi Band vibrate. This might help you hear it if it is nearby. However, the Mi Band does not have a dedicated speaker, so the vibration might not be loud enough to catch your attention. Practical Method Instead of searching your surroundings aimlessly, a more practical approach is to use a Bluetooth signal strength meter app, such as Wunderfind , on your smartphone. This app allows you to compare the Bluetooth signal from the lost device at differen...
