Wistify.app

Introduction

Wistify.app is a mobile application developed by My Pharmacist House and its team.

• It allows users to seamlessly convert existing spreadsheets into functional mobile applications without writing any code.
• Currently, it offers three layout options: a searchable list, a quiz, and a decision flow.

NOTE: On iOS, created apps can be accessed either directly as Progressive Web Apps (PWAs) via Safari or viewed within the official Wistify reader on App Store.

Features

Wistify. app follows a freemium model that includes a permanently free plan with basic, accessible features.

• The Free Basic package includes a limit of 3 published apps, a maximum of 1,800 data rows, and 1 GB of monthly storage.
• Upgrades are available when your application requires more capacity.

Key features include

• Automatic database update notifications.
• Basic password protection for privacy.
• Notice board integration.
• File manager upload images and PDFs.

Limitations

Wistify exclusively supports CSV (comma-delimited) data and Google Sheet URLs.

File Conversions

• Users must manually save Excel files in CSV format prior to importing.
• Because CSV files consist of plain text, all original Excel styling - including font styles, colors, cell borders, and conditional formatting - will be stripped during conversion.

Google Sheets Integration

• The sync URL must originate from a native Google Sheet rather than an uploaded Microsoft Excel file (identifiable by a .xls or .xlsx extension in Google Drive).
• The sheet’s sharing settings must be set to "Anyone with the link can view," or view access must be granted directly to wistify-gsheet@wistify-1aa9d.iam.gserviceaccount.com.
• Real-time, automatic data synchronization with Google Sheets is not supported. To pull updated information, creators must manually trigger the sync process (Manage Google Sheet > Preview Sheet) and republish the database within the Wistify dashboard.

Data Sanitization & Limits

• While automatic type-checking exists (e.g., verifying that header rows are not empty and contain no duplicate names), special characters (such as $, #, [, ], /, or .) are automatically removed.
• Hard restrictions apply even to the Pro plan: a maximum of 5,000 rows per app, up to 40 fields, 60-character field names, and 5,000 characters per cell.

UI & Functionality Constraints

• For searchable lists, the app provides a basic, uniform data display template.
• Headers remain visible on the user interface even if the corresponding data fields are blank (which are displayed as a hyper-dash, -).
• The platform currently lacks support for multi-page architecture, interactive calculations, embedded clickable URLs, and advanced user-interaction elements.

Security Constraints

• The platform relies on client-side access controls.
• While the password screen prevents casual browsing, it should not be treated as a high-security boundary.
• Avoid uploading high-risk or confidential assets, as front-end locks cannot completely obfuscate underlying application data from tech-savvy users.

Summary

Whilethe Wistify.app user interface is significantly enhanced, several technical design flaws remain to be fixed - such as the inability to delete draft apps or unpublish existing ones.

Because the application utilizes client-side access controls rather than robust server-side security, password protection only acts as a basic barrier against casual browsing.

• Granting access via wistify-gsheet@wistify-1aa9d.iam.gserviceaccount.com allows you to avoid making your Google Sheet publicly accessible, but the platform remains unsuitable for private or confidential data.
• Wistify should only be used for public or low-risk information.
